Bio
I'm a 26-year-old and master of the universe living and working in Munich, Germany. After graduating from high school in the Two-Castle city Weinheim in 2003 I studied Information Systems at Darmstadt University of Technology. In 2006/07 I spent an exchange year at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, which used to be one of the world's hottest spots of the global high tech network. You can see all of these locations on the timemap.
Activities
I am interested in software development as a whole, including especially software technology, programming paradigms, programming languages, computational linguistics, and information systems.
I wrote my diploma thesis on naturalistic programming, which is a programming paradigm that enables developers to write computer programs in a simplified, yet real natural language. More specifically, I described a semantic meta language that abstracts from natural language features. The corresponding research project is called Project Pegasus and aims at designing and implementing such a natural language programming system that goes by the name "Pegasus".
Together with Yang Meyer, I have been developing Rendezyou, an event coordination solution which integrates with Apple's iCal. The basic idea behind this application is to invite several participants to an event, suggesting a few alternative dates. The invitees can then indicate whether they are available on the suggested dates or not. The core technologies used are Ruby on Rails, the Cocoa framework and Objective-C. Rendezyou is currently in public beta.
More recently, I started working as a software developer for a small-sized enterprise located in Toytown Munich (see the timemap). Based on a process-driven methodology we create Java-based application systems for insurance companies.
In my spare time I play ukulele and write short biographies about myself. If you want to meet or just say hi, use the contact form to send me an email.
Look
That's what I looked like in April 2009 (yes, I do that hair thing each morning).
The song is "I've Just Seen A Face" by Jim Sturgess from the 2007 musical film "Across the Universe".
